Exam X-Rays & Cleaning

Routine dental exams are an integral part of your preventive dental health care. Digital X-rays are taken to aid in evaluating bone loss, cavities, and infections in teeth and jaws. Visual and palpable inspection of the entire oral cavity, head and neck are used for Oral Cancer Screenings. A dental cleaning involves the use of an ultrasonic scaler, along with instruments used to remove plaque, tartar, and build-up from above and below the gums, this is done to prevent cavities, gingivitis and periodontal disease. It is recommended to have a dental check-up twice a year, sometimes more often if needed.

Fillings

There are several different types of restorations that can be done to restore missing tooth structure lost from a cavity, broken or from a defect in enamel. Composite "white filling", amalgam "silver filling", and porcelain inlays and onlays which are fabricated in a lab. Fillings are done to restore the function, integrity and morphology of teeth.

Crowns

A dental crown is a restorative procedure done to repair and strengthen damaged teeth. Crowns can improve the appearance of teeth including color, shape and alignment. There are a variety of materials used to make crowns, which are fabricated in a dental laboratory.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are done to cosmetically enhance your smile. They are a thin shell of porcelain fabricated in a dental lab, that is bonded to the prepared tooth. They are designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve the appearance of color, shape, size or length. Porcelain veneers do not stain over time and have light reflecting properties of natural teeth. Veneers are routinely done to fix discolored teeth from tetracycline stain, excessive fluoride, enamel dysplasia, chipped or broken teeth, and misaligned teeth.

Root Canals

Root canal treatment is necessary when the nerve tissue inside a tooth is dying or dead. Nerves can become affected from a deep cavity in a tooth, trauma, breaking a tooth can cause nerve exposure, or excessive grinding. Nerves inside teeth sense hot and cold. When the nerve is removed from a tooth, it can still function normally. If you're experiencing hot or cold lingering pain, pressure when biting, discoloration, swelling or no sensation at all you may require a root canal.

Dentures

Dentures are fabricated in a lab to replace missing teeth. There are two types of dentures: complete dentures replace all missing teeth and partial dentures are made when missing some teeth. With advances in materials, dentures and partials can be made esthetically to appear like natural teeth. Tooth loss solutions however do not only consist of remove-able prosthesis appliances. You can call for an appointment to discuss these options.

Implant Restoration

Dental implants are a titanium screw placed in the jaw to support dental crowns, bridges, or dentures. Once implants are placed in the jaw many options are available to restore single or multiple missing teeth. If you're missing one tooth adjacent teeth do not need to be affected. If you are wearing dentures and are experiencing difficulty, implants can be placed for retention. Many options are available: single implants, full mouth implants with porcelain crowns and bridges, implant over-dentures, hybrid dentures, and screw-retained implant over-dentures. Treatment plans are determined on an individual basis. Come in to discuss which is best for you.

Invisalign/Clear Correct

An alternative form of orthodontic teeth movement without having metal brackets and wires on your teeth. A series of clear aligners are fabricated to aid in the movement and correct the position of your teeth. There is little to no discomfort, and some treatments can be done in less than 6 months. If you are unhappy with your smile, whether due to spaces or overlap from crowding ,come for a consultation and see if you're a candidate for invisalign or clear correct.
